The Critical Care and Respiratory Services Program has a dedicated inter-professional team (including physicians, nurses, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, dieticians, physiotherapists, social workers, occupational therapists, personal support workers) who provide complex critical care to our patients. Critical Care is the branch of medicine concerned with diagnosing and managing life-threatening conditions and supports the Regional Nephrology/Dialysis, Vascular and Cardiac Program.
At SHN, our focus is to deliver high-quality care in partnership with our patients and families during their acute stay.
Equipment: Transport Ventilator
Help us breathe life into our patients with a new Patient Transport Ventilator, which will allow for effective and safe ventilation for patients requiring high levels of ventilator support. During their stay in the ICU, a patient could be moved to various other departments – from emergency to a surgical suite – so it is important that they are provided with seamless transport that does not compromise their care.
